John Blazek

Senior UX Developer

John has simple goals: to envision usable, rich, and interactive experiences across devices... and to stay steadily caffeinated.

John spent the last chunk of his career at One Trick Pony, a creative services agency, where he served as the Director of Interactive Development. There, he developed experiences for a range of clients such as Sony Pictures Classics, Turner Classic Movies, Virgin Mobile, and Timberland. He was also was the proud recipient of 5 FWA's, 2 Awwwards, and 6 Best of Interactive at the Philly ADDY Awards, along with nominations at SXSW and the Webby Awards. Essentially, he’s got the accolades and credentials to back up his skills. John earned a BA in Communications at Widener University, as well as a Masters of Computer Graphics Design from RIT. He started his career as a web designer, but moved more toward development early in his career. He’s got simple goals: to help create, ideate, and envision usable, rich, and interactive experiences across devices. Armed with HTML5, CSS, Javascript, and his design sensibility, John is focused on bridging the gap between design concepts and functional code. It’s a noble goal and one that we fully support at IC. Outside of work, John spends time with his kids, follows all five Philadelphia sports teams (yes, the Union also), and watches a fair share of EPL soccer. He feeds the caffeine beast first thing in the morning and continues to medicate (like a developer should) until it’s IPA time. In other words, he fits in just fine around here.
